The Princess Revolt and The Tapestry of Tales are suitable for ages 8 to 12 year olds. The books are action-packed, fun fantasy reads that explore the themes of friendship, doing the right thing and, in the case of The Princess Revolt, the way in which the classic fairytales might have created certain biases about looks, race and gender.

The Unraveled books lend themselves to a critical examination of beloved fairytales and/or a fun and lively discussion about embarrassing situations, what it means to be brave and how we can both love and be made crazy by our families.
